Two Wrongs Don’t Make A Right

Was Will Smith right or wrong for slapping Chris Rock during the night of the Oscars? Some justify it because of what Chris Rock said to Jada while others well, didn’t take to kindly of Mr. Smith’s reacting and swift charges would have been file for assault . To be honest, my wife and I was watching it thinking it was an act but, it was for real.

Here’s the part that will get a lot attention and even some press time, the Vegas Police would be involved and even some blood would be shedding while the whole ceremony would of been a bust.

Believe it or not none of that happened and Rock continued with it gracefully sticking to the old motto, “the show must go on”, and it did hardly without a hitch.

Rock, who is a comic, was doing his job being a comic hosting an awards show and doing his brand of comedy that he is use to do in his standup routines so, his jokes may be raw or sometimes gracious, it depends on the joke or situation.

It was said that Jada wished Will didn’t do what he did but it was too late of the fact. There were some who was Will’s side for elegantly being disrespectful to his wife in reference to Jada’s hair loss. There were some who was Chris Rock side because he was doing what he does best, making people laugh.

Later after the slap that was heard around the world, Smith made an apology to everyone especially Rock but later made his apology via Twitter but, was that enough to justify the means?

What’s my take on all of this? Both parties were wrong. Chris Rock for disrespecting Will Smith’s wife Jada for the remark he gave to her, although he was doing his monolog as host, and Will Smith for slapping Chris Rock out of anger.

Some believed Smith was right for defending his wife and others thought he was a bully about the whole thing.

Either way the pendulum swings, someone has to be the better person and shake hands and act like gentlemen of honor at least for once.
